Afraa Razouk Wins First Prize at the 20th Doctoral Day in the Freshman Student Category

We are thrilled to announce that Afraa Razouk, PhD student at Interfibio Research Group, has been awarded First Prize in the Freshman Student category at the 20th edition of the Doctoral Day organised by the Doctoral Programme in Nanoscience, Materials and Chemical Engineering of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.

This annual event offers a platform for doctoral students to present their research and engage in dialogue with peers, academic staff, and experts from various sectors including industry and administration. A highlight of the event is the poster exhibition session, where students' projects are evaluated by a panel of renowned experts.

Afraa Razouk's award-winning poster, titled "Multiplexed High-Risk HPV Test for Cancer Early Detection: A Novel Diagnostic Approach," stood out for its innovative perspective and scientific excellence. Her work proposes a new diagnostic strategy to enhance early detection of high-risk HPV types, contributing to the field of cancer prevention.

Interfibio was well represented at this year's Doctoral Day with four posters showcased across two categories:

Freshman Students:

  • Afraa Razouk: Multiplexed High-Risk HPV Test for Cancer Early Detection: A Novel Diagnostic Approach

  • Monica Choudhary: Bioanalytical Tools Based on Recognition Proteins for Toxin Detection

  • Maryam Shafie Zadeh: Development of Electrochemical DNA Scaffold Sensors for Monitoring Clinically-Relevant Antibodies in International Travelers

Junior Students:

  • Ulises Guillermo Diaz: Rapid and Facile Detection of Pacific Ciguatoxins by Lateral Flow Assay for Food and Safety Screening

Congratulations to Afraa and all Interfibio participants for their outstanding contributions and for representing the group with excellence.
