New Ph.D. Candidate Joins Interfibio: Welcome, Afraa Razouk
We are pleased to welcome Afraa Razouk as a new Ph.D. candidate in the Interfibio Research Group.
Originally from Syria, Afraa brings a rich and interdisciplinary background to the team. Her research at Interfibio focuses on electrochemical biosensing and molecular diagnostics, with a particular emphasis on developing genosensors, isothermal nucleic acid amplification techniques, and DNA-based assays for point-of-care applications. She is especially interested in next-generation diagnostics for high-risk Human Papillomavirus (hr-HPV).
Afraa holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the International University for Science and Technology (IUST), Syria (2017), a Master's in Chemical Engineering Nanoscience from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), Spain (2020), and a second Master's in the Science of Pharmacy from Saarland University, Germany (2023).
Her academic path reflects a strong commitment to translational research, connecting advanced molecular techniques with real-world clinical needs. Her expertise spans biosensors, biotechnology, and public health, making her a valuable addition to the Interfibio team.
We look forward to her contributions to the group and to the broader scientific community.
