Afraa Razouk wins First Prize in the Poster Session at the Transfronterera Meeting 2026
Afraa Razouk, PhD student at the Interfibio Research Group, has been awarded First Prize in the Poster Session at the Transfronterera Meeting 2026, held on 17 and 18 September 2026 in Perpignan.
Afraa presented her work entitled "Development of an Electrochemical Platform for the Detection of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNP)", focused on developing an electrochemical platform for the detection of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs).
Her research explores the development of a portable and cost-effective platform for genetic analysis, combining molecular amplification techniques with electrochemical detection. The work aims to contribute to new diagnostic strategies for the rapid detection of genetic variants and the advancement of personalised medicine.
The poster presents part of the research Afraa is carrying out as part of her PhD at Interfibio, a research group within the Department of Chemical Engineering at Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV).
