Two Interfibio researchers among the world’s most influential scientists

We are proud to announce that two members of the Interfibio research group, Dr. Ciara O'Sullivan and Dr. Claudio Parolo, have been recognized among the world's most influential researchers, according to the latest classification published by Stanford University.

The Stanford University database, updated with 2024 data, ranks researchers based on a composite indicator derived from citation metrics that take into account factors such as authorship position, self-citations, and the total number of citations received.

The report presents a double analysis: one evaluating research impact over the entire career and another focusing on the past year.
Dr. Ciara O'Sullivan, director of Interfibio, appears in both rankings, reflecting her sustained and significant contributions to the field of biosensors and bioengineering.
Dr. Claudio Parolo is included in the list of influential researchers for the past year, highlighting the excellence and impact of his recent scientific work.

According to the analysis, the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) is home to 51 researchers featured in the list and ranks first in Catalonia and in Spain in terms of the proportion of influential researchers relative to its permanent academic staff.

Congratulations to Dr. O'Sullivan and Dr. Parolo for this international recognition, which reinforces Interfibio's ongoing commitment to impactful, high-quality research.
