Research technician
- Bio: Xana Garcia (Asturias, 2000) holds a BSc. in Biology from the University of Oviedo (2018-2022) and a MSc. in Zoonoses and One Health from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2023). During her Master´s thesis she specialized in parasitology, focusing specifically on malaria. As part of this work, she completed a research stay at Nossa Senhora da Paz Hospital in Cubal (Angola), where she conducted an epidemiological study. At the beginning of 2024, she joined the Diagnostic Nanotools research group of the Vall Hebron as a Research Support Technician, contributing to the development of nanotechnology-based diagnostic tools for the detection of both respiratory viruses and malaria. In 2025, she began a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, driven by her passion for the clinical side of research. She joined the Interfibio group as research technician in 2026.
